About The Position

The Quality Intern will support quality assurance and improvement activities at Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. The role works with production areas, quality staff, and area management on root cause analysis, defect data analysis, process initiatives, and quality programs. The intern will also assist with implementation and rollout activities and support existing and future workshops. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be a current student at an accredited college or university.
• Have good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to formulate and clearly communicate abstract concepts.
• Demonstrate proficiency with personal computers and contemporary office productivity software.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and review QA standard work.
• Work with production areas during root cause analysis.
• Assist the EWI Coordinator with the VCV rollout and implementation process.
• Assist the Area Manager with daily PQI slides and processes.
• Analyze data on defects found throughout the plant.
• Support the Damage Team on weekly initiatives and walks.
• Coordinate and work with QA inspectors on downtime initiatives and ideas.
• Support existing and future workshop initiatives.
• Support feedback loops and Self and Successive Check programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
