About The Position

The Quality Improvement Coordinator I is responsible for the data management and integrity related to operational and clinical quality and performance improvements. This position will assist the quality team in data management including, but not limited to collection, entry, and basic analysis. In addition, the Quality Improvement Coordinator I will be responsible to ensure the integrity of data sources and demonstrate basic understanding of administrative health, clinical, and quality data. The Quality Improvement Coordinator I will assist the quality team in identification of data requests, data dissemination, implementation, and maintenance of quality and performance improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing Business, IT, or related field
  • High School Graduate
  • Experience with data management and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet inflexible deadlines while maintaining composure
  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational, time-management, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with research methodologies
  • Ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, administrative staff, clinical personnel, peers, and patients
  • Demonstrate persistence in solving problems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience/working knowledge with data base management tools (i.e. Microsoft Access, RedCap, Minitab, Visio, or other electronic data capture systems)
  • Travel between UKHS sites/locations

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of administrative health, clinical, and quality data in order to clarify report deliverables related to data analytics.
  • Facilitates timely dissemination of quality data and identification of incoming quality and performance improvement requests from leadership team.
  • Assists with coordination of onsite surveys including, but not limited to, CoC, QOPI, NAPBC, and TJC.
  • Assists and supports quality and performance improvement initiatives, including, but not limited to, support functions related to operational and clinical analysis utilizing computer based programs such as database creation and data entry.
  • Assist in identification quality and process improvement opportunities based on data needing additional focus by service line/department quality team.
  • Facilitates maintenance of recurrent quality improvement reports, including but not limited to dashboards, scorecards, and trended graphs/charts.
  • Demonstrates competence in formatting raw data into tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Collaborates with service line/department quality team to facilitate accuracy, timeliness, reproducibility, and confidentiality of data collection and reporting.
  • Collaborates with service line/department quality team on special operational and clinical related projects to facilitate data collection, entry, and preparation, in cooperation with other leaders, departments, and locations.
  • Collaborates with service line/department quality team to identify drivers that positively/negatively impact data integrity and makes recommendations to correct data.
  • Collaborates with internal and external departments to ensure data integrity.
  • Participates in data collection, workshops, and sustainability of LEAN activities.
  • Acts as a liaison between the service line/department and other internal partners with respect to data related issues.
  • Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development though continuing education, conference attendance, workshops, and/or seminars.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
