About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Improvement Coordinator with experience in compliance monitoring, incident management, regulatory reporting, staff training, and audit preparation. Skilled in conducting investigations, analyzing trends, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to OPWDD, Justice Center, and agency regulations. Proven ability to collaborate with leadership, improve service quality, support accreditation efforts, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in human services or related field with progressive experience working with I/DD population
  • Knowledge of OMIG, OPWDD and Justice Center regulations
  • Progressive experience working with I/DD population in a supervisor capacity
  • Experience working with OPWDDs incident management software (IRMA)
  • Experience working with NYS Justice Center software (AARM, WSIR)
  • Must have Incident Investigator certification or be able to complete course and pass certification exam
  • Have excellent computer skills with the ability to create, maintain and navigate computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must have flexible working hours and be able to work outside normal business hours as needed
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Flexibility of work location with the ability to travel
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be detail oriented, self-driven and work both individually and as part of a team
  • Successful completion of criminal background history and fingerprint examination; a valid NYS driver’s license to Agency standard

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document incident investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting.
  • Review incident reports, track corrective actions, and communicate recommendations to leadership and program staff.
  • Prepare and distribute incident management documentation, reports, and trend analyses.
  • Maintain incident tracking databases, spreadsheets, and regulatory records.
  • Coordinate compliance, quality improvement, and new hire training programs.
  • Conduct internal audits, site visits, and monitor corrective action plans for regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as liaison with OPWDD, Justice Center, and other regulatory agencies, including on-call incident management support.
  • Assist with state audits, policy development, and implementation of compliance initiatives.
  • Chair Incident Review Committee meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and manage submissions in IRMA and WSIIR systems.
  • Develop satisfaction surveys, analyze results, address complaints, and recommend quality improvement measures.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to enhance service quality, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
