About The Position

Cox Automotive’s EVBS Quality Department is seeking an intern for a 12-week summer engagement to organize and standardize Quality Management System (QMS) documentation across four sites: Atlanta, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Oklahoma City. This hands-on project supports ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification efforts and improves how quality teams, auditors, and site leadership access and maintain controlled documents. The intern will design and build a consistent SharePoint structure for QMS content, including folder taxonomy, naming conventions, document-control workflows, and metadata. The role will include reviewing and reorganizing documents, coordinating with local Quality leads and other stakeholders, and developing guidance that helps site teams maintain the new structure after the internship. The intern will provide progress updates and present the project approach, migration status, and governance recommendations to leadership. The position is hybrid, with the ability to work remotely part of the week, and involves approximately 5% travel. Work is performed on the day shift. Compensation is $22.02–$33.08 per hour; the rate may vary based on location and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or an incentive program. Employment requires passing a pre-employment drug test. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with large volumes of documents and files.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple sites and time zones.
  • Comfort with some travel or virtual coordination across the Atlanta, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Oklahoma City sites.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship; OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, and visa sponsorship are not available.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and the broader Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience building SharePoint sites.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and inventory QMS documentation and SharePoint content at all four EVBS sites to identify gaps, duplication, and inconsistencies.
  • Design a standardized folder and library structure for QMS documents that scales across sites and ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification levels.
  • Establish consistent naming conventions, version-control practices, and metadata or tagging to support document control and traceability.
  • Map document ownership and access permissions by role and site in coordination with local Quality leads.
  • Migrate or reorganize existing content while preserving revision history and controlled-document status where required.
  • Develop reference guides or a short training aid with the Document Control Specialist so site Quality teams can maintain the structure.
  • Partner with Quality leaders at each site to validate the structure against day-to-day needs and audit-readiness requirements.
  • Provide regular progress updates and deliver a final readout summarizing the structure, migration status, and ongoing governance recommendations.
  • Prepare a final presentation for leadership summarizing the approach, structure, and recommendations.
