About The Position

Royalty Staffing is helping an on-demand, autonomous rideshare company hire an engineering-focused EV Mechanic to support the readiness of its fleet vehicles. The role involves vehicle maintenance, repairs, fleet reworks, and contributing to workshop operations, including scheduled and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repair coordination, and general vehicle upkeep. The position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is in person. Available shifts are 3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, scheduled either Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday. The assignment is an ongoing W2 contract, with expected pay of $43.00–$46.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a mechanic, vehicle technician, or in a similar role.
Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check; the posting specifies accidents or tickets in the last 3 years.
Team-oriented, reliable, and self-starting, with a hands-on work ethic.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deliverables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods (8+ hours), depending on equipment type.
Forklift and/or gantry operation is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab, such as a dyno or battery lab.
Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
Experience and ability to tow a car hauler and other large trailers to transport fleet vehicles.
Technical trade school certificate or associate degree in automotive repair.
Current and valid forklift operator certification compliant with Cal/OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
Travel locally as needed to support vehicle setup, diagnostics, and maintenance work.
Coordinate with the shop foreman to ensure vehicles are ready for demonstrations and testing.
Perform diagnostics and escalate issues to the appropriate engineering team when needed.
Coordinate and drive the repair process from start to finish.
Create diagnostic test plans as needed to support troubleshooting and validation.
Maintain service records and produce quality field reports.
Maintain shop facilities, keeping tools organized and the workspace in excellent working condition.
Assist with parts inventory, tracking, and organization.
Deliver an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners.
