About The Position

Quality Control (QC) Inspector is a critical role within AVT, responsible for ensuring that products and services meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements and expectations to support production and manufacturing. This role involves extensive testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring that electrical and mechanical components, assemblies, machined parts, and finished products meet defined quality standards and technical specifications. The QC Inspector supports compliance with government regulations. The candidate shall be detail-oriented, analytical, and work closely with production, manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes.

Requirements

  • Experience in quality control (typically 2–5+ years).
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, 8D).
  • Experience with inspection techniques and measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Analyze data and create and review processes.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information.
  • Interacts with employees, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience (Four years of experience may substitute for two years of educational requirements).
  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, control panels, motors, sensors, and industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory or industry standards relevant to electrical and mechanical products.
  • Quality certifications (CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.)
  • Experience with AS9102, supplier quality management, and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Strong ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and weld drawings.
  • Create First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) for new production parts.
  • Inspection of Mechanical assemblies, Electrical assemblies, Machined parts, Sheetmetal parts, weldments, solder, and crimps.
  • Develop and execute checklists to confirm adherence to quality standards, specifications, and requirements.
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of nonconforming items/parts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection plans.
  • Document and report defects via multiple reporting portals.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results, defects, and resolution steps to support progress tracking and audit readiness.
  • Semi-familiar with standards for finishing, Fed, etc.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to the quality control processes within AVT.
  • Stay informed on the latest QC methodologies, tools, and industry trends to enhance personal and team capabilities.
  • Support the development and delivery of best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, manufacturing, and QA to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate on the integration of quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electrical and mechanical parts.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify root causes of quality issues and lead corrective and preventive actions requests (CAPARs).
  • Ensure proper testing of electrical systems (continuity, insulation, functional testing) and mechanical assemblies.
  • Analyze quality data and prepare reports, metrics, and documentation.
  • Support supplier quality evaluations and incoming material inspections.
  • Knowledge of how to read schematics, BOMs, and specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to customer sites (up to 10%) as needed to ensure product quality and standards during installation and delivery.
