Working under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Technician II will act a liaison between departments such as manufacturing, engineering, etc. The individual must have a quality conscious attitude with emphasis towards a collaboration approach to accomplish project goals and implement solutions to problems. The individual will work independently, be able to multitask, be detail oriented, and have good decision-making skills based on the quality process from the beginning of manufacturing to the end. Assure compliance with safety and quality standards. Evaluate incoming ingredients, work in process products, and finished goods. Perform flour testing, sifting, and shelf-life testing. Test samples for pH, TTA, moisture %, and color. Collect and analyze samples at specified frequencies, ensuring results are within specified ranges. Place items on hold that do not meet the specification such as incoming material, work in process, and or finished goods. Present reasons for retention and recommends possible solution to the issue. Inspect and calibrate lab equipment. Report non-compliance findings and recommend next step solutions. Comply with and enforce GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points). Assure cross-functional issues are resolved and site concerns are addressed. Organize and file processing records. Prepare samples for outside laboratory testing, evaluates, and interpret results. Assist QA Technologist/ Shift Lead and/or QA Supervisor on various projects. Perform CCP verifications. Responsible for Quality and Food Safety functions as assigned and outlined in Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program. Report issues/non-conformances and investigation results to the QA Supervisor/Shift Lead/QA Technologists. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
