About The Position

This is a seasonal position with a shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The hourly rate is $12.40 with a $.75 shift differential. The role involves developing a working knowledge of production schedules, assembling cases, monitoring product packaging for accuracy, selecting acceptable units for casing, discarding unacceptable units, reporting deviations, ensuring correct case sealing, visually inspecting products for flaws, stopping production for serious deviations or equipment malfunctions, maintaining area housekeeping, and assisting operators with various production tasks. Any other duties assigned by management may also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working knowledge of production schedules and follow schedule instructions.
  • Form and assemble cases to meet production requirements/specifications.
  • Monitor auto-filled bags or trays for required fill weight, back seal, end seal, label placement, date code, and label accuracy.
  • Select acceptable bags/units for hand casing accurately for case count, orientation, and placement.
  • Discard unacceptable bags/units to be reworked.
  • Report deviations from product requirements to operators or supervisors.
  • Ensure that cases enter the case sealer correctly.
  • Visually inspect products and ingredients for blemishes or other flaws, extraneous vegetable material, or discolored units.
  • Stop production to report any serious deviation from requirements/specifications, or malfunction of line equipment.
  • Maintain area housekeeping.
  • Assist operators with start-up, production, change over, and shut down of production.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
