About The Position

The Clorox Company is seeking a Process Operator who consistently demonstrates exceptional work behaviors and a drive for excellence. As a Process Operator at Clorox, you will operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and safe production processes. Follow strict quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of product quality. Resolve any production issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve root causes of any manufacturing inefficiencies and efficiently implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in a Manufacturing/distribution environment, preferably Food/Beverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work area to 5S standards.
  • Knowledge of WCM processes.
  • Must have or develop an elevated level of understanding of Progressive Maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and identify corrective maintenance work for all processing systems.
  • Self-motivated work behavior requiring limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of PID (Piping & Instrumentation Drawings) drawings.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite 365, Microsoft Teams, SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Adding raw materials to process tanks, operating process equipment and monitoring controls, and instrumentation for multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Safely overseeing drums, totes and supersacks using a forklift.
  • Troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and identifying corrective maintenance work for all processing systems.
  • Performing rail car switches with railroad personnel and completing unloading activities of caustic and High Strength railcars per DOT and HazMat procedures.
  • Coupling, uncoupling, positioning, and connecting railcars for transfer of caustic and High Strength Bleach.
  • Performing bulk tanker truck unloading activities for hazardous chemicals per DOT and HazMat procedures.
  • Setting up manual valves in truck loading to charge applicable bulk storage tanks, removing and cleaning truck unloading strainers, pumping out truck unloading sumps, taking samples from tanker trucks, and connecting and disconnecting hoses.
  • Completing documentation and safety practices to ensure that all safety systems are operational.
  • Completing and maintaining logs, records, and reports necessary for the operation of the Process Department.
  • Maintaining area security by locking crash gates and security fences when trucks enter and exit the area.
  • Locking and securing crash gates at railroad entrances.
  • Backing up security personnel by monitoring cameras as needed.
  • Maintaining control of entrance into the bleach process area.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the production schedule and current packaging performance to determine the correct sequence of production activities to ensure current shift and future shift requirements are met.
  • Accurately identifying the quantity of raw materials and staging them in the correct pump-up location.
  • Monitoring computer screens to locate ingredient flows and variations and making necessary adjustments to support them.
  • Filling salt tanks by lifting 40-lb salt bags, filter aid by lifting 25-lb bags, and making soda ash solution by lifting 50-lb bags.
  • Performing physical inventory and reconciliation of raw materials and recommending adjustments to the Inventory Management System.
  • Removing, repairing, and replacing piping, valves, pressure gauges, actuators, and pumps using available drawings.
  • Maintaining scales, pH meters, and viscometers and formulating reagents for laboratory testing.
  • Performing analytical tests on all finished products.
  • Operating wastewater systems to ensure all discharges are below the discharge permit level.
  • Supporting WCM processes including Early Management, Daily Operations, and other Pillars.
