About The Position
This is a seasonal position with a shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The role involves developing a working knowledge of production schedules, forming and assembling cases, monitoring filled bags for quality, selecting acceptable units for hand casing, discarding unacceptable units, reporting deviations, ensuring cases enter the sealer correctly, visually inspecting products for flaws, stopping production for serious deviations or equipment malfunctions, maintaining area housekeeping, and assisting operators with various production tasks. Responsibilities
- Develop a working knowledge of production schedules and follow schedule instructions.
- Form and assemble cases to meet production requirements/specifications.
- Monitor auto-filled bags or trays for required fill weight, back seal, end seal, label placement, date code, and label accuracy.
- Select acceptable bags/units for hand casing accurately for case count, orientation, and placement.
- Discard unacceptable bags/units to be reworked.
- Report deviations from product requirements to operators or supervisors.
- Ensure cases enter the case sealer correctly.
- Visually inspect products and ingredients for blemishes, flaws, extraneous vegetable material, or discolored units.
- Stop production to report any serious deviation from requirements/specifications or malfunction of line equipment.
- Maintain area housekeeping.
- Assist operators with start-up, production, change over, and shut down of production.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
