About The Position

Austin Engineering is seeking elite welders who are ready to step up into leadership, training, and quality roles. This position offers the opportunity to train and mentor other welders, gain exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), and potentially pursue AWS CWI certification. It's a hands-on leadership role for individuals who take pride in perfect welds and are ready for career growth.

Requirements

• Strong MIG/FCAW welding experience
• Can pass a hands-on weld test
• Knows prints, symbols, and fabrication processes
• Takes pride in clean, high-quality work
• Natural leader — or ready to become one
• Shows up, works hard, and holds the line on standards

Nice To Haves

• Path to AWS CWI (we help you get there)
• Cross into Quality (QA exposure)

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor welders to meet Austin Welding Standards
• Weld in ALL positions (FCAW, GMAW-P, and more)
• Fabricate heavy-duty equipment: truck bodies, buckets, tanks, reels
• Read prints and execute precision fit-ups and welds
• Identify bad welds and fix them right (CAC-A, grinding, rework)
• Step in with QA when needed to maintain top-tier quality
• Operate cranes, hoists, and shop equipment safely and efficiently
