About The Position

The Quality Technician participates in the entire course of manufacturing, inspecting components before assembly, reviewing trial products, and testing finished goods. During these processes, they will analyze results and drive improvement using the A3, 8D problem solving methodology and Corrective Action Database. This role involves key involvement with the BIQ (Built in Quality) Process on assigned Production Lines and all Vertical Assembly Plants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Experience in print reading and part measurement
  • Basic level critical thinking skills (data analysis, investigation, validation)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional groups in multiple levels of the company

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or college credits, advanced certifications
  • 1-5 years of manufacturing and/or process experience with assembly processes
  • Proficient in understanding and reading engineering prints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Continuous Improvement methodology training/experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for quality process related concerns to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Responsible for PFMEA and Control Plans for assigned operations area. (Facilitate and maintain)
  • BIQ Activities and Programs including detailed data collection using KPI (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Update BIQ PFMEA based on risk, rank findings using RPN Risk Priority Numbers
  • Monthly Control Plan reviews utilizing all Production related KPI’s and Low Hour Warranty data
  • Identify, contain and document rejected parts, communicate to all necessary individuals.
  • Notify internal suppliers of non-conformances and issue corrective actions utilizing the CAR (Corrective Action Response) system. Work with internal suppliers to determine root cause and implement timely and effective quality solutions.
  • Work in collaboration with Supplier Quality to resolve external non-conformances.
  • Perform Quality Focus Group Audits related to process adherence, defect prevention and employee training.
  • Complete CQA audits. (Customer Quality Audits) of finished goods and score issues found using documented process.
  • Maintain daily metrics for FPY, Scrap and Line repetitive defects. Provide detailed reporting.
  • Ensure production process meets current industry standards (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association & Canadian Standards Association)
  • Participate in scheduled New Employee Orientation weekly meetings, presenting key Quality Information
  • CCDB (Customer Complaint Database) interaction with assignments and Corrective Actions (CAR Database)
  • Strive for continuous improvement in performing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Follow Standard Work instructions and complete documentation and records for traceability.
  • Drive “No Pass Defect” mentality within the Manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all company safety policies. Report safety concerns through proper channels, and work cross functionally to resolve issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
