The WCD Vandalia Plant is looking to fill an opening for a Quality Assurance Supervisor. This position is to assist and support the Quality Manager in various Quality areas. Monitor the condition of raw materials before and during production and finished products after they are manufactured to ensure they meet White Castle USDA and FDA specifications. This position will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Control Program to ensure finished products meet specifications. Incumbent will give guidance, direction, and training to all Team Members regarding quality, food safety, HACCP, Food Defense, SQF, and GMP requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have strong knowledge of SQF, FDA, and USDA Regulations and Directives, HACCP, SOP’s, and GMP’s
  • Functional knowledge of how all equipment in the quality lab is designed to operate; includes Electronic Scale, Electronic Temperature Probe, High Pressure Washer, Temperature Recorders and Bioluminescence
  • Proficient computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong skills in employee relations, communication, and teamwork, including the ability to give and receive direction and to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to stay focused and accomplish multiple tasks independently with little supervision and within established timeframes
  • Self-starter and able to anticipate work requirements
  • Possess excellent management & decision-making skills
  • Ability to successfully complete on-the-job training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in food science, Biology, Microbiology, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in production methods and root cause analysis preferred

Responsibilities

  • Selection, supervision, training, and guidance of Quality Team Members
  • Coordination, development, and supervision of policies and procedures relating to food safety and quality including: GMP’s, HACCP, SSOP’s, SQF and other programs relating to food quality and safety
  • Perform pre-operational and operational facility inspections to identify problems and offer practical solutions to those problems
  • Perform raw material and finished product inspections and analyses. Train Quality Team Members to perform these functions
  • Maintain and procure inventory of quality, sanitation, safety, and production supplies
  • Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization in a professional manner, display a positive demeanor and be responsive to the teams’ needs
