Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field with a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial process manufacturing environment in a quality assurance role with hands-on experience with quality management systems.
  • Experience in statistical process control, process optimization and continuous improvement including experience with Six sigma and Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrates values of integrity, respect for others accountability and a strong bias for action
  • Able to achieve results individually and as a member of a team
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data-driven
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages quality assurance metrics to measure opportunities for improvement, progress on goals and accountability for performance.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems.
  • Works in conjunction with the Process Engineer to reduce variation and eliminate waste in all plant processes.
  • Monitors quality impact of new production processes, methods or equipment
  • Identifies relevant quality training needs and implements training.
  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes and procedures working with interdepartmental teams and with the involvement of the production employees.
  • Manages and audits the planning and execution of daily lab quality assurance testing and production quality testing.
  • Monitors vendor compliance to quality standards.
  • Designs, manages and controls documentation and report procedures as well as the communication of progress results to plant Key Performance Indicators in the area of Quality.
  • Reviews customer claims identifying root causes and leads the development and implementation of corrective action plans in conjunction with the process engineer and the Operations team.
  • Organizes and manages quality assurance function in close-cooperation with IKO Quality/Research and with the management team (Member of Local Management Team).
  • Monitors performance by utilizing data and statistical analysis.
  • Collates and analyses performance data and charts against defined parameters and reports the results/action plan in Monthly Raw Material Variance meetings with senior management.
  • Manages and maintains the Plant’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
  • Sets QA compliance objectives and insures that targets are achieved.
  • Acts as company quality representative in customer visits.
