About The Position
The Quality Assurance Specialist I supports the company’s quality management system and helps ensure manufacturing processes and products comply with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace industry standards. This entry-level role assists with documentation control, quality audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position works with production, engineering, and inspection teams to help ensure quality requirements are understood and followed. The work environment combines office and manufacturing-floor settings, with occasional interaction with production areas and inspection activities. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on the production floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, or an aerospace environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and administration of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assist in ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.
- Review procedures, work instructions, and records for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with internal audits and support external audits conducted by customers or certification bodies.
- Help track and maintain corrective and preventive action (CAPA) records.
- Monitor and report quality metrics and performance indicators.
- Assist in investigating nonconforming materials and quality issues.
- Support document control activities, including revision tracking and record retention.
- Work with production, engineering, and inspection teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and followed.
- Maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality system enhancement initiatives.
