About The Position

At Byron Wellness Community, the Qualified Medication Aide helps residents remain safe, healthy, comfortable, and engaged in daily life. Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, the aide administers medications safely and accurately while supporting residents’ quality of life, dignity, and individual needs. The position may also assist with CNA duties on the floor depending on staffing needs.

Requirements

Must possess at least a high school education or its equivalent.
Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant with a current Indiana license.
Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide who has successfully completed a state-approved training program and any necessary examinations in accordance with state law.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals living with dementia, behavioral health challenges, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or other specialized populations.

Responsibilities

Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
Observe residents and report concerns or changes in condition.
Accurately document medication administration and resident responses.
Identify and report medication errors or concerns.
Support resident care and comfort throughout the shift.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and other team members.
Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
Assist by working on the floor as a CNA depending on staffing needs.
Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
Support a positive, respectful, resident-focused environment.
