RELA Language Professionals is seeking qualified Medical & Community Bilingual Interpreters for an on-site, independent contractor position. This role is part-time, flexible, and on-call, focusing on revolutionizing language access by cultivating a supportive community for interpreters. RELA emphasizes continuous learning, professional development, and a family-like network, aiming to set new standards in healthcare interpretation across over 80 languages. The position involves facilitating accurate communication, ensuring comprehension, managing specialized terminology, handling sensitive situations professionally, and documenting services. RELA is actively recruiting interpreters for all languages, with a particular demand for Spanish and Portuguese. Other languages in reasonable to high demand include Arabic (all dialects), ASL, Armenian, Bosnian, Burmese, Cambodian (Khmer), Cantonese, Chuuckese, Croatian, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, French (Especially African Dialects), Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Karen, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Korean, Kurdish, Laotian, Mandarin, Marshallese, Nepali, Punjabi, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Somali, Sudanese, Swahili, Taiwanese, Thai, Tigrinya, Tongan, Turkish, Turkmen, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Zulu. The company encourages applications from individuals speaking any language not listed. Interpretation requests are primarily on weekdays between 7 AM and 7 PM, with additional opportunities for weekend, evening, night, and holiday assignments.
