About The Position

The QA Technician monitors quality assurance and food safety activities, recommends improvements, and carries out corrections to improve quality department functions. The role tests and inspects products at various stages of production and compiles and evaluates statistical data to help maintain product quality and reliability. It requires knowledge of food quality standards and procedures, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and logical thinking.

The technician performs quality tests and sampling, records and reviews results, evaluates data, and reports deviations from standards. The role also supports quality assurance management, production teams, and special projects; helps resolve quality problems; maintains laboratory equipment calibration and logs; and prepares laboratory equipment and solutions. This position is for the 3rd shift at night.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a quality assurance or food safety role within a manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge of food quality standards and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and logical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Perform related duties and provide support to Quality Assurance Management.
• Contribute information and analysis to quality assurance plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identify and resolve problems; complete audits; determine system improvements; and implement changes.
• Perform tests at specified production stages and test products for qualities such as temperature, defects, and code dates; record results and review records and reports for accuracy and completion.
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate standards or indicate deviations.
• Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capabilities.
• Complete assigned special projects and work with project teams to examine and evaluate data, select corrective steps, and help resolve problems.
• Analyze incoming dry goods for production.
• Verify specifications before startup and throughout production processes.
• Address quality issues with production and other teams.
• Document key metrics for data analysis.
• Maintain calibration and logs for laboratory instruments.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and solutions.
• Communicate directly with operators and production personnel.
• Conduct general analysis and sampling of production samples.
• Collect retention samples on a shift-by-shift basis.
