Requirements

  • Read, write, and communicate (English)
  • Experience working within a HACCP-regulated food manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing
  • Basic mathematical skills and computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and a team member
  • Ability to work in a cold environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior testing, laboratory, analysis experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the production process, including net weight, package integrity, labeling, temperature, metal detection, product appearance, pH testing, stuffing weights, shrink tests, and other product specifications.
  • Inspect work-in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety requirements, and established operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with production teams to provide guidance on product specifications, quality requirements, and corrective actions.
  • Perform routine quality inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Conduct environmental, food contact, sanitation, ATP, and equipment teardown swabbing in accordance with food safety and quality programs.
  • Complete pre-operational inspections of production areas to verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness and identify areas requiring corrective action.
  • Place equipment or products on hold when quality, sanitation, or food safety requirements are not met.
  • Investigate quality concerns, including foreign material findings, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Accurately document inspection results, testing data, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations, product holds, and quality-related documentation and reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other food safety and quality management system requirements.
  • Support laboratory and analytical testing activities as required.
  • Provide weekend coverage for quality assurance activities, including pre-operational inspections, quality checks, and environmental monitoring.
  • Promote and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards throughout the facility.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all health and safety procedures and reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Note this role is for a 6 month contract.
