About The Position

Niantic Spatial is building real-world foundational models for physical AI to enable safe and efficient collaboration between people and machines. They provide robots, AI agents, and people with an accurate, shared understanding of physical spaces, enhancing safety and efficiency in demanding environments. Their technology includes reconstruction capabilities for detailed environment capture from standard cameras and a Visual Positioning System for precise global positioning. They cater to markets such as robotics, public sector, and energy/industrial, addressing challenges like GPS-deficient robots, defense team situational awareness, and costly facility downtime. This role is for an experienced Senior Recruiter (contract) to lead end-to-end recruiting during a significant growth period. The recruiter will collaborate with hiring managers and leadership to identify, attract, assess, and hire top talent across various functions including engineering, product, research, operations, go-to-market, and corporate. The ideal candidate will be consultative, proactive, comfortable in fast-paced startup settings, and adept at managing multiple searches simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience across both technical and non-technical roles.
  • A track record in high-growth startups, technology companies, or venture-backed organizations.
  • Proven success hiring software engineers, machine learning engineers, AI researchers, product managers, and business professionals.
  • Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, and other talent tools.
  • Experience managing many concurrent requisitions without compromising candidate experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and consultative communication.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (Ashby preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and influence hiring decisions with data and market insight.

Nice To Haves

  • Recruiting experience in AI, machine learning, geospatial, robotics, spatial computing, mapping, or related emerging-tech sectors.
  • Experience building recruiting processes from the ground up in startup environments.
  • Experience hiring globally or supporting distributed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and non-technical roles, from intake through offer acceptance.
  • Partner with hiring managers and leaders to define hiring strategies, candidate profiles, and interview processes.
  • Build and execute sourcing strategies (direct outreach, referrals, networking, recruiting platforms) to attract high-caliber candidates.
  • Develop strong pipelines across software engineering, machine learning, AI research, product, sales, marketing, operations, finance, and people functions.
  • Conduct recruiter screens to assess candidate qualifications, motivations, and cultural alignment.
  • Drive an efficient interview process and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Advise hiring managers on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and hiring best practices.
  • Manage offers and negotiations to successful closure.
  • Maintain current candidate records and recruiting metrics in the ATS.
  • Champion fair and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting operations, workflows, and employer brand.
