About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and committed hospitality professional for the position of Purchasing Supervisor at the Boston Harbor Hotel. This position is responsible for the ordering, receiving, storing and issuing of goods while maximizing profitability. The Purchasing Supervisor will aid in overseeing all distribution of hotel inventories and supplies, sourcing products, supplies and materials as well as managing inventory controls to meet department’s needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in Business Administration and/or equivalent experience is required.
  • Must have at least two (2) or more years of purchasing experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have experience in all Microsoft Office and industry relevant Purchasing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a luxury environment preferred.
  • A second language is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an organized method to ensure efficient product flow.
  • Maintain a well-organized, easily inventoried storeroom with agreed upon par levels to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure the Receiving Clerk maintains accurate detailed records of all deliveries through direct supervision and approval of all daily logs.
  • Ensure the Receiving Clerk approves the quality of product, especially perishable items, as the items enter, while ensuring produce is dated and rotated.
  • Work closely with Food and Beverage control to ensure all cost factors are under scrutiny, such as receiving logs, meat tag system, inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, and product rotation.
  • Alert leadership when pricing changes occur, or product specifications become a problem.
  • Ensure the accuracy of perpetual beverage inventories and maintain proper par levels.
  • Directly supervise inventory levels of dry goods through the coordination with the Storeroom Attendant and Chef.
  • Identify slow moving stock, and report to food and beverage control.
  • Comply with all Safety Standards.
