About The Position

The Procurement / Supply Chain Co-op supports procurement of parts and materials by developing sources of supply, monitoring supplier performance, verifying receipt of items, authorizing payment, and managing and controlling inventory. The role supports materials procurement for production, aftermarket sales, and engineering projects for new product introduction (NPI). The co-op will work with a team of professionals in the semiconductor industry and join a cohort of students in Engineering and Operations at ASMPT NEXX. Co-op events include monthly activities such as lunch with the company president, a career panel, and final presentations. The position is based in Billerica, Massachusetts.

Requirements

Be an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Be highly motivated and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Procure materials for production, aftermarket sales, and engineering projects for NPI.
Generate quotations for components and assemblies.
Create and maintain purchase orders, expedite deliveries, verify transactions, and ensure proper financial authorization before orders are placed.
Track purchase orders and notify the supply chain planning team of material issues and shipment delays, ensuring timely resolution with suppliers.
Maintain inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals and production needs.
Lead total cost of ownership reduction efforts and identify and drive best practices to achieve cost reductions.
Support and manage supplier negotiations and the identification and integration of new suppliers.
Perform other essential related duties as assigned.
