About The Position

Applied Materials’ Manufacturing Engineering Department is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op for its Billerica, Massachusetts location. The co-op provides hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly and modular testing in a cleanroom environment. The role is scheduled to run from January 11, 2027, through July 2, 2027, and is on-site.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Be a quick learner and willing to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

• Engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with build and test technicians to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Conduct time studies on build and test lines.
• Lead small manufacturing process improvement projects.
• Develop and update operation method sequences (OMSs).
• Support manufacturing engineering with part defect root-cause analysis and processing.
