2027 Spring Process Engineer Co-op (Billerica, MA)
About The Position
Applied Materials’ process team is seeking a co-op to join in Spring 2027. The team uses Applied Materials’ leading-edge technologies to solve high-value customer problems in research and fabrication. The position offers hands-on exposure to advanced technologies and the opportunity to learn semiconductor fabrication, understand variable processes, and develop skills in design of experiments, systematic data analysis, and problem solving. The co-op will work with senior process engineers and internal customers on varied projects, lead small development projects, and support process engineering operations. The position is on-site in Billerica, Massachusetts, from January 11, 2027, through July 2, 2027.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's program in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Be in good academic standing at the university.
- Have a passionate drive, a curious mind, and an adaptable spirit.
- Be a quick learner.
Nice To Haves
- GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale preferred.
- Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior process engineers and internal customers to deliver solutions for varied projects.
- Lead small development projects, including project management, design of experiments, wafer processing, data collection and analysis, documentation, and presentation of data.
- Set up processes, build recipes, and operate the advanced fab operation system.
- Support process engineers with procurement, shipping, and inventory functions.
