About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a native-level Punjabi speaker for a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology programme for a major global technology and communications client. This hands-on, on-site role combines evaluation of pre-release AI model output in Punjabi with functional testing on client-supplied devices, including a smartphone and next-generation smart glasses. The evaluator will assess how well the technology works in Punjabi and help improve it before public release.

The role is performed in a private, secure area of a Welocalize office. Remote or work-from-home arrangements are not available for this programme because of the confidential, pre-release technology. The employee will work alongside an experienced linguist and tester and may support other linguistic projects as needed.

Requirements

• Native-level or fully bilingual Punjabi proficiency in written and spoken form, with current familiarity with everyday and technical usage.
• Confidence using a smartphone and laptop, and comfort moving between iOS and Android.
• Strong attention to detail and fair, objective judgment when assessing quality.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed test scripts and guidelines, and explain issues clearly in English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation; this is a strong plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Review pre-release AI model output in Punjabi for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality, including fact-checking responses against source material.
• Compare the Punjabi experience with the English experience, confirm feature parity, complete a full user journey using non-English input, and check handling of non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
• Identify display issues, such as cut-off, overflowing, or poorly rendered text, and localization errors involving dates, numbers, currencies, units, or untranslated strings.
• Document issues so developers can reproduce them, including the steps taken, device and operating system, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
• Retest issues after fixes are delivered to confirm they are resolved.
• Provide native-speaker feedback on navigation, usability, and Punjabi-language nuances.
• Work on-site in a private, secure area of the Welocalize office.
• Support other linguistic projects as needed.
