About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a native-level Azerbaijani speaker for a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology programme for a global technology and communications client. The role combines evaluating pre-release AI model output in Azerbaijani with functional testing on client-supplied devices, including a smartphone and next-generation smart glasses. The evaluator will help assess how accurately, naturally, appropriately, and reliably the technology performs in Azerbaijani before release. This is an on-site position in a private, secure area of a Welocalize office. Remote or work-from-home arrangements are not available because of the confidential, pre-release nature of the programme. The role also supports other linguistic projects as needed and involves working alongside an experienced linguist and tester.

Requirements

  • Native-level or fully bilingual Azerbaijani proficiency, written and spoken, with a current understanding of everyday and technical language use.
  • Confidence using smartphones and laptops and comfort switching between iOS and Android.
  • Strong attention to detail and fair, objective judgment when assessing quality.
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed test scripts and guidelines, and explain issues clearly in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Review pre-release AI model output in Azerbaijani for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality, including fact-checking responses against source material.
  • Compare the Azerbaijani experience with the English experience, confirm feature parity, and complete user journeys using non-English input.
  • Test handling of non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
  • Identify display problems and localization errors, including text that is cut off, overflowing, or poorly rendered, and incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, or untranslated strings.
  • Document issues clearly so developers can reproduce them, including the steps taken, device and operating system, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
  • Retest issues after fixes are delivered to confirm they are resolved.
  • Provide native-speaker feedback on navigation, usability, and Azerbaijani-language nuances.
  • Work on-site in a private, secure Welocalize office area.
  • Support other linguistic projects as needed.
