About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a native-level Gujarati speaker for a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology programme for a major global technology and communications client. This hands-on role combines evaluating pre-release AI model output in Gujarati with functional testing on client-supplied devices, including a smartphone and next-generation smart glass. The evaluator assesses whether Gujarati responses are accurate, natural, appropriate, and factually consistent with source material, and checks the Gujarati experience against the English version for feature parity and correct handling of non-Latin scripts, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input. The role includes identifying display and localization issues, documenting reproducible defects with relevant device, operating system, locale, build, and evidence details, and retesting fixes. The employee also provides native-speaker feedback on navigation, usability, and language-specific nuance. Work takes place on-site in a private, secure area of the Welocalize office; remote or work-from-home arrangements are not available for this programme. The role may also support other linguistic projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Native-level or fully bilingual Gujarati, written and spoken, with a current understanding of everyday and technical language use.
  • Confidence using a smartphone and laptop, and comfort moving between iOS and Android.
  • Strong attention to detail and fair, objective judgment when assessing quality.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed test scripts and guidelines.
  • Ability to explain issues clearly in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a strong plus, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Check handling of non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
  • Identify display problems and localization errors, including incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, or untranslated strings.
  • Document issues clearly so developers can reproduce them, including the steps taken, device, operating system, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
  • Retest issues after fixes are implemented to confirm they are resolved.
  • Provide native-speaker feedback on navigation, usability, and Gujarati-specific nuance.
  • Work on-site in a private, secure area of the Welocalize office.
  • Support other linguistic projects as needed.
