About The Position

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is assisting Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Amarillo campus in recruiting a BC/BE Pulmonary Critical Care physician for an employed faculty position providing Intensivist services at their hospital in Amarillo, TX. The Department of Internal Medicine at TTUHSC at Amarillo is passionate about advancing the health of Texas Panhandle citizens through clinical practice, research, and graduating competent caring physicians, and enjoys a strong reputation throughout the region. This is a critical care position with some pulmonary duties. The schedule is one week on/one week off for intensivist services, with pulmonary consults and clinic responsibilities. The team currently consists of two full-time physicians and two Nurse Practitioners. The role involves providing medical education and supervision to residents and medical students during surgical rotations. The hospital has a contracted Hospitalist service. This position offers a generous compensation package exceeding private practice, a full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, PTO, CME, 401(k), and medical malpractice insurance. Texas has no state income tax and is a tort reform state.

Requirements

BC/BE in Critical Care Medicine
BC/BE in Pulmonary Disease
Become board certified within a year of hire date if BE
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship(s)
Exemplary clinical skills

Responsibilities
