About The Position

The Village is seeking temporary part-time seasonal workers to provide general assistance to various maintenance crews during the winter months. The essential functions of these positions include, but are not limited to, snow and ice removal operations, pothole patching, sewer cleaning, and shop/building maintenance. Candidates will be considered under one of two tiers based on whether they possess a valid Illinois Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with an air brake endorsement: Tier 1 - CDL Candidates: Employees may operate CDL-required vehicles and equipment as part of snow and ice removal and other Public Works operations. Tier 2 - Non-CDL Candidates: Employees will assist with snow and ice removal and other Public Works operations using vehicles and equipment that do not require a CDL. Previous snowplowing experience is a plus but is not required. Training on vehicles and equipment and familiarization with plow routes will be provided upon hire.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Illinois driver's license
• Valid Illinois Class B CDL with an air brake endorsement (Tier 1 only)
• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
• Able to lift or move 50 to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
