About The Position

The Village is seeking temporary part-time seasonal workers to provide general assistance to various maintenance crews during the winter months. The essential functions of these positions include, but are not limited to, snow and ice removal operations, pothole patching, sewer cleaning, and shop/building maintenance. Candidates will be considered under one of two tiers based on whether they possess a valid Illinois Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with an air brake endorsement. Tier 1 candidates may operate CDL-required vehicles and equipment, while Tier 2 candidates will assist with operations using vehicles and equipment that do not require a CDL. Previous snowplowing experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. These temporary positions are expected to last from approximately December 1, 2026, through April 1, 2027.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid Illinois driver's license
• Tier 1 candidates must possess a valid Illinois Class B CDL with an air brake endorsement
• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
• Able to lift or move 50 to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical including drug screening

Benefits

• Tier 1 - CDL Candidates will be eligible for a $1,000 signing bonus; this bonus will be divided into two payments $500 at the start of the season and $500 at the end of the season.
