About The Position

Crowe is hiring a project manager to support the California State Controller’s Office (SCO) and its California State Payroll System (CSPS) project, a large and complex SaaS implementation covering personnel and payroll functionality for approximately 300,000 employees across 160 agencies and 21 bargaining units. The project has an estimated budget exceeding $1 billion, a workforce approaching 200 IT professionals, and is expected to continue for several years. The role is part of the CSPS Project Management Office (PMO), which executes, maintains, and enhances the project management plans. The PMO is staffed by senior project managers who work directly with state and system integrator counterparts. The successful candidate will lead and support project execution in a highly complex IT implementation, interact directly with client and system integrator staff, and provide professional client service. The role requires analytical and organizational strength, communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Remote work is allowed from within the continental United States, with occasional travel to Sacramento for project meetings. Working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific time regardless of location. Candidates must pass an SCO background check before beginning work.
