About The Position

The Public Safety Officer performs security duties at Knapp Medical Center, including electronic surveillance and routine manual patrols, to help ensure the safety of the facility. The officer coordinates responses to potential incidents involving patients, employees, and visitors; enforces policies and procedures fairly and consistently; and uses monitoring techniques to support a safe workplace and environment of care. The role works with the Environment of Care Committee on a multidisciplinary approach to safety and security, participates in employee awareness and education, and drives as needed for company business.

The position is part-time, with variable shifts and 8-hour shifts, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Guard Certification Registration Card.
• State driver's license upon hire.
• Current DMV H6 report or Driving History Report.

• Experience in healthcare security or a related field is preferred.
