About The Position

The Hospital Emergency Services Dispatcher (EMT) dispatches requests for the hospital’s Public Safety and Fire Safety Departments. The role also handles LIFE STAR helicopter flight requests and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Critical Care Ground Transport Team responses. Dispatchers follow established procedures to prioritize requests, obtain necessary information, pre-alert teams, notify appropriate departments, and coordinate the response of resources as quickly and effectively as possible.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid EMT license recognized by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in Public Safety, EMS, or dispatch.
• Familiarity with electronic CAD systems and data input.
