About The Position

The Crystal Bridges and the Momentary PR and Social Media Internship is an outstanding opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to round out their portfolio and resume with real-world application of a 360-degree public relations practice. The intern will gain an understanding of how various channels support the museum’s integrated communications efforts. Sample hands-on tactics will include: press release writing, submitting content to external sources, social media content creation, media pitching and hosting, research, and writing copy in various forms. The performance will be evaluated on the ability to meet deadlines, follow directions, and contribute workable solutions to communications challenges.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Familiarity with using computers and the Internet as research and communications tools.
• Ability to accept and synthesize constructive critique of work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work at least 15 hours per week.
• Sign a confidentiality agreement.
• To qualify for bachelor’s or master’s hours, you must be enrolled in an accredited program or have graduated from an accredited program within the past three years.
• Students are required to submit a current schedule or an official transcript.
• A complete application must include both a cover letter and a resume.

Responsibilities

• Track and create weekly media reports
• Write media alerts and press releases
• Create social media content
• Submit events to community calendars
• Write occasional articles or blog posts
• Support social media strategy with research, posts, and evaluation
• Develop media plans, with consultation
• Research
• Host onsite media and production teams across Crystal Bridges and the Momentary
• Staff interviews
• Staff events as a representative of the PR and Social Media teams
