About The Position

The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an individual with a passion for adult inpatient psychiatry and teaching to join their team. This is an academic faculty psychiatrist position, suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, serving as an inpatient attending psychiatrist on the Adult Psychiatry Division’s Inpatient Service at the UNM Psychiatric Center. The role offers opportunities for developing the unit's direction, multicultural clinical care, and scholarly research activities. There are also opportunities for professional development in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees.

Requirements

Doctorate Degree (MD or equivalent)
Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
Licensable in New Mexico
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Provide attending psychiatrist services on the Adult Psychiatry Division’s Inpatient Service.
Participate in developing the unit’s direction.

Conduct scholarly and collaborative research activities.
Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines.
Contribute to leadership, administration, and education within the department.
