About The Position

The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an academic faculty psychiatrist for an inpatient attending position on their Adult Psychiatry Division’s Inpatient Service at the UNM Psychiatric Center. The role is suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor. The successful candidate will have opportunities for multicultural clinical care, scholarly and collaborative research, and professional development in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees. The position offers a voice in developing the unit’s direction within a vibrant academic community.

Requirements

Doctorate Degree (MD or equivalent)
Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
Licensable in New Mexico
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Serve as an attending psychiatrist on the adult psychiatry inpatient service.
Provide clinical care within a 32-bed adult psychiatry inpatient unit.
Participate in developing the unit’s direction.
Engage in multicultural clinical care.
Conduct scholarly and collaborative research activities.
Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines.
Pursue professional development in leadership, administration, and education.
