About The Position

The Psychiatrist provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care remotely through BetterHelp’s telemedicine platform. The role includes assessing and treating patients, prescribing medication when clinically appropriate, creating individualized treatment plans, and coordinating care with BetterHelp’s network of licensed therapists. BetterHelp supports credentialing, payer enrollment, and platform operations. Providers make clinical decisions independently in accordance with applicable state telehealth laws, regulations, and professional standards.

This is a flexible, part-time, independent contractor (1099) opportunity, not a salaried employee role. Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a licensed Psychiatrist.
• An active medical license (MD/DO) in good standing; medical license is required.
• Experience prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable state law.
• Confidence using technology and online tools to deliver virtual care.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients through telemedicine.
• Assess, screen, and diagnose patients, and prescribe medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable state law.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs.
• Coordinate treatment planning and care delivery with BetterHelp’s network of licensed therapists.
• Deliver empathetic, high-quality care while upholding BetterHelp’s clinical and service standards.
• Share feedback with product, engineering, and operations teams to help improve the provider and patient experience.
• Make clinical decisions independently in accordance with applicable state telehealth laws, regulations, and professional standards.
