About The Position

TeamHealth is seeking a psychiatrist to provide behavioral health care to older adults in post-acute and long-term care settings, including skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and inpatient rehabilitation facilities. The role offers clinical autonomy, flexible scheduling, and organizational support without the administrative responsibilities of private practice.

The position combines medical director services and patient rounds with psychological assessments, diagnoses, and individual psychotherapy. Patients may be treated for depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorder, grief and loss, and life transitions. Care is provided onsite, with remote documentation, and in collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams. Coverage includes Chicago and Harvey, Illinois. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends. The position is available full-time or part-time and is a W-2 role with full benefits.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Illinois state license as a psychiatrist.
• Eligible for independent practice and billing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with inpatient hospital work as a psychiatrist is a plus.
• Experience with older adults or post-acute care is preferred.
• New graduates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical director services and round on patients.
• Provide psychological assessments and diagnoses.
