About The Position

The PSS Manager leads direct reports, group leaders, and their teams while serving clients in technical settings such as laboratories or manufacturing facilities. The role organizes technical resources and staff to meet client goals and deadlines, leads team scheduling and employee training in client environments, and ensures coverage and strong performance across workloads.

The manager helps maintain high quality, efficiency, and productivity in laboratory operations, using management operating systems to improve coverage and efficiency. Responsibilities also include supporting department business operations, handling financial responsibilities as defined by the department Director, communicating administrative information, and keeping current on relevant science and technology to consult knowledgeably with client contacts.

The position is full-time, with eight-hour days Monday through Friday and core hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overtime or adjusted hours may be needed. Candidates within commuting distance of Malvern, Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, or another science-related concentration, or equivalent directly related experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on related experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Good understanding of day-to-day business operations.
• Strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Business management education or experience.
• Scientific background, preferably in separation and characterization methods such as liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and spectrophotometry.

Responsibilities

• Hold monthly meetings with each direct report, the Eurofins department, and client managers.
• Disseminate administrative communications.

• Handle financial responsibilities as defined by the department Director.
