About The Position

NCR Atleos is hiring a PS Software Engineer IV for its Financial Services work in Atlanta, Georgia, in a hybrid work arrangement. The engineer will build and deliver advanced self-service financial solutions for enterprise clients and high-availability systems. Using the NCR Atleos Professional Services platform, the role designs, develops, tests, and implements complex software solutions with substantial independence and ownership. The position works closely with cross-functional teams and client partners, leading technical discussions and contributing to solution design while ensuring deliverables meet technical and business expectations. The engineer participates in agile delivery, continuous improvement, and mentoring junior engineers. The role may lead defined workstreams and influence technical direction in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
10+ years of experience focused on the self-service financial industry and/or payments industry.
6+ years of experience with Java, J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JDBC), XML, HTML, JavaScript, JUnit, and Spring Framework (Web MVC, Batch, and Spring Boot).
6+ years of experience with web services (REST and SOAP) and web service frameworks.
3+ years of experience with JEE application servers and web servers.
6+ years of experience with Java Messaging Service (JMS) and messaging queues.
6+ years of experience with financial transaction message standards ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
6+ years of experience with relational databases, including Oracle and SQL Server.
6+ years of experience with software design patterns such as MVC, Singleton, Data Access Object, Value Object, and Service.
Strong object-oriented programming skills and application development and support experience.
Good understanding of test automation frameworks and CI/CD practices.
Good understanding of secure development lifecycles.
Experience working with large teams using SAFe/Agile methodologies, including Kanban or Scrum.
Experience working in continuous test and build environments.
Understanding of requirements gathering and root cause analysis.
Ability to work under tight timelines in a demanding environment and deliver quality results.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, arithmetic, and logical-thinking abilities.
Willingness to take ownership and make independent decisions.
Strong time-management skills and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to lead in challenging standard approaches and adapt while understanding legacy systems.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with NCR Payment Solutions (Authentic/CxTH).
Ability to independently evaluate risk and propose contingency plans.
Good business acumen and ability to negotiate up-sell and margin improvement.
Ability to provide enterprise-level Business Impact Analysis.
Exposure to cloud services, including servers, storage, and networking; CI/CD tools; infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform; Helm charts; Docker containers; security and PCI; and identity management.

Responsibilities

Use NCR Atleos/PS systems and tools with minimal direction.
Apply aspects of professional services implementation or custom development methodologies to the role.
Work effectively with direct and indirect NCR Atleos teams.
Engage with client counterparts to produce deliverables and communicate status as needed.
Lead internal and external communications, including weekly status meetings, issue tracking, and informal design sessions.
Provide guidance and support to more junior team members.
Identify opportunities to expand work products.
May lead a team responsible for a defined set of deliverables.
Perform complex development and testing activities with minimal supervision.
Develop expertise in a specific product, technology, or methodology.
Contribute technical content to documentation for user help materials and customer training.
Participate in peer reviews, mentorship, root cause analysis, and continuous test and build activities.
