About The Position

The Prototype Build Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating prototype vehicle builds. This role involves adjusting build timing based on parts and Hoist availability, reviewing BOMs, prioritizing builds, and creating work orders. The coordinator will also manage build issue logs, communicate daily issues to engineers, and handle miscellaneous parts pull requests. Additionally, they will chair weekly build issue and program build planning meetings, and create necessary documentation for material movement. A key aspect of this role is recommending best practices for issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Ability - Highest Priority
  • Prior mechanic experience (dealership or independent), or Significant hands on automotive repair experience beyond basic maintenance (3 years of either work experience in a dealership, automotive repair, or personal experience noted on the supplier notes or cover letter)
  • Strong understanding of vehicle components (brakes, suspension, cradles, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse mechanic personalities
  • Highly organized; able to manage multi million dollar prototype builds
  • Comfortable with Microsoft tools
  • High school diploma needed
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Driving record will be checked

Nice To Haves

  • diagnostic experience is a plus
  • Mechanic certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Adjust timing for builds based on part and Hoist availability.
  • Review PDB Master BOM's from EBOM.
  • Prioritize builds through 2970 Garages.
  • Create build Work Orders for all ground up builds, updates.
  • Create Build Issue Logs to communicate to Engineers daily issues.
  • Create Misc. parts pull requests based on engineering needs.
  • Chair weekly build issue and program build planning meetings.
  • Create Shippers, Gate passes, move requests, etc. for all material movement inside and outside of company.
  • Recommend best practice for Issue Resolution.
