About The Position

As a Prototype Coordinator, you will support several project managers in procuring pre-production components, receiving and maintaining site inventory, tracking shipments for ordered components, and ultimately shipping out finished goods to fulfill engineering orders. This is a key support role for the team and may involve other activities as needed by the Project Management staff at the Aptiv Troy Technical Center, which is an Advanced Development Site for Occupant Sensing & Other Safety Electronics.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in a similar position
Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
Strong Computer skills; proficient in Excel; Outlook email; and internet search skills
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and problem-solving
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
Strong follow-up is expected for this role

Nice To Haves

Engineering background/Electrical component knowledge
Proficiency in JIRA or SAP is helpful, but not necessary

Responsibilities

Support project managers with pre-production component procurement and order fulfillment
Communicate with suppliers; place purchase orders and follow-up thru delivery and payment
Receive and maintain site inventory of pre-production material
Prepare finished goods for shipment to engineers (internal as well as customer)
Generation of labels and prepare dunnage for shipments
Follow-up with shipping dock to assure receipt of POs & payments to suppliers
