About The Position

Red Pulley, Inc. is seeking a Protocol Specialist to support the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. This role supports the Commanding Officer's office in delivering a world-class visitor experience, managing distinguished visitor programs, and executing official ceremonies and Command-level events at one of the Coast Guard's most critical aviation facilities. This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of protocol and event planning experience, including application of protocol and etiquette for dignitaries, military/civilian representatives, and high-ranking officials
  • Must obtain the Military/DoW Protocol Specialist certification within 12 months of hire
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 1 Background Investigation (BI) for Common Access Card (CAC) issuance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate to a senior military command environment
  • Ability to work discreetly and professionally with senior military, civilian, and elected officials

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who already hold the Military/DoW Protocol Specialist certification are strongly preferred
  • Current holder of Military/DoW Protocol Specialist certification
  • Prior experience supporting a military Command, Flag Officer, or senior Government official's office
  • Familiarity with U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Defense, or DHS organizational culture and protocol standards
  • Experience coordinating events with Congressional staff or other senior Government delegations

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate official tours of the aviation logistics facility for distinguished visitors including members of Congress and their staff, Coast Guard Flag Officers, Department of Homeland Security officials, and representatives from other government agencies
  • Lead weekly orientation tours for newly hired employees, scheduled visitors, and community groups such as civic organizations, schools, and government delegations
  • Greet visitors upon arrival, coordinate ground transportation, serve as personal escort throughout the facility, and manage all aspects of the visitor itinerary from arrival to departure
  • Set up and operate audio/visual equipment for Command-level meetings. Manage the Commanding Officer's conference room scheduling and keep informational displays current. Attend designated meetings, record and distribute minutes, and maintain weekly briefing materials and the Command's standing orientation brief.
  • Plan and execute official military ceremonies including retirements, promotions, and award presentations — managing all logistics including invitations, programs, scripts, and speeches. Organize and host social functions for the Officers' Wardroom, provide protocol guidance on matters of military and civilian etiquette, and coordinate the Enlisted Person of the Quarter recognition program with the Coast Guard's public affairs office and local media.
  • Assist the Commanding Officer's executive secretary and support other administrative functions at the facility as directed.
