About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Property Maintenance Specialist II in Pullman, Washington. This is a swing shift position, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. With guidance, the specialist performs daily custodial maintenance duties of basic complexity, assists with routine floor care, and maintains equipment and supplies. The role also supports workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.

Requirements

• Two years of experience maintaining and cleaning commercial facilities.
• Ability to perform basic repairs, including carpentry, painting, and equipment installation.
• Ability to reach, bend, grip, twist, and stand for at least eight hours.
• Ability to frequently lift and maneuver 40 pounds.
• Valid driver's license.
• Highly motivated and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial maintenance, including sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, trash removal, and responding appropriately to requests.
• Assist with routine floor care, including stripping and sealing or waxing hard floors, carpet spotting, and carpet extraction.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance as requested.
• Follow and continuously improve workplace safety and environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.
