Maintenance Specialist II

About The Position
New Horizons is seeking a caring and compassionate Maintenance Specialist II to perform a variety of duties in and around the Agency’s facilities, including maintenance repairs and renovations of its physical structures. The role includes maintaining buildings, machinery, grounds, and related systems. On-call availability is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of construction, maintenance, and groundskeeping experience.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with six points or less in the last three years.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check through the DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain physical structures and machinery.
- Check for and repair plumbing stoppages, breaks, and leaks in waste and water lines that might prevent proper operation.
- Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances.
- Paint various surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers, as necessary.
- Maintain building grounds, including cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, and general cleanup.
- Remove and properly dispose of refuse and trash from grounds.
- Be available on call.
