About The Position

The Property Claims Intern will contribute to Farm Bureau Financial Services’ claims experience by assisting with claims, preparing claims reports, entering information in claim files, contacting client/members, and providing customer service. The intern will also participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to the insurance industry, the organization, and its culture. The internship follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% of time is spent on meaningful departmental work and project-based assignments, 10% on learning and networking with employees in other areas, and 10% on shared internship experiences about the company’s culture, leadership, and business operations. This summer 2027 role offers entry-level claims and insurance experience along with general corporate, real-world exposure. The position is based at the company’s office in West Des Moines, Iowa, and is approximately 35 hours per week.

Be a current full-time college student.

Have strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
Be available to work about 35 hours per week from the West Des Moines, Iowa office during summer 2027.
Be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis; sponsorship is not available, including for candidates with OPT status.
