About The Position

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking a Property Claims Intern for summer 2027. The intern will contribute to the claims experience by assisting with claims, preparing claims reports, entering information in claim files, contacting client/members, and providing customer service. The intern will also participate in corporate activities that provide exposure to the insurance industry, the organization, and its culture. The internship uses an 80/10/10 approach: 80% of the intern’s time is spent on meaningful departmental work and project-based assignments, 10% on learning from and networking with employees in other areas, and 10% on shared internship experiences about the company’s culture, leadership, and business operations. The role offers entry-level claims and insurance experience as well as general corporate exposure. The position is based in the company’s office in West Des Moines, Iowa, and requires availability for about 35 hours per week during summer 2027.
