About The Position

The Property Accountant will perform various duties on the accounting team including preparation of financial reports, tracking the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excel, experience with creating tables, formulas, V-lookups.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to succeed in a high volume, deadline driven department
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
  • 3+ years of accounting related experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly Financial Statements for a portfolio of properties including Balance Sheets and Budget Comparison report with variance analysis.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, including related party receivables and payables.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate cash flow for assigned properties
  • Prepare prepaid and accrued expense schedules.
  • Review bank reconciliations monthly and resolve outstanding items.
  • Ensure applicable taxes and insurance are paid and recorded on a timely basis.
  • Work alongside Operations department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.
