This is an operational role where the individual will be responsible for driving a designated route to load and/or unload fuel in a safe and timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience operating tractor-trailer equipment, preferably in one or more of the following areas: propane, natural gas, pipefitting, plumbing, crane and/or boom truck.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Must possess a class A or class B CDL with the following endorsements: (a) X -Tank/Hazardous Materials, (b) Doubles or Triples, and meet the current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • A current medical certificate is also required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills.
  • Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, train and supervise employees.
  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate and/or maintain machinery, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a one-ton or larger service vehicle with a crane to move propane tanks.
  • Handles, inspects, certifies and fills small propane tanks.
  • Drives a designated route to load and/or unload fuel in a safe and timely manner.
  • Delivers propane to customers and sets up new propane systems as needed.
  • Performs various customer service activities as needed including scheduling work with customers, performing propane pressure tests for customers and communicating with customers and finding solutions for system deficiencies.
  • Tracks and reorders inventory.
  • Completes paperwork and updates information into computer tracking systems.
  • Understands and implements company, state, and federal regulations.
