About The Position

Eden Health Care Services is seeking a motivated and community minded student to join their team for the summer. As a Promotion and Administrative Assistant Summer Student, the individual will gain hands-on experience in marketing, fundraising, and office administration while supporting Eden’s mission to provide recovery-oriented mental health services. This role is ideal for students pursuing studies in business, communications, social sciences, or health care.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma required
  • Currently enrolled in a university or other post-secondary program (Business, Communications, Health Sciences, or related field)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Proficient in design tools to create marketing materials (e.g. Canva)
  • Organized, detail oriented and eager to learn
  • Passionate about community service and mental health advocacy
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (with the Vulnerable Sector Check)
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Use of a vehicle with current Vehicle Registration, indicating 3rd Party Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 or more

  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing awareness events at local venues for all of Eden’s programs
  • Support coordination of Eden Foundation fundraising events
  • Help develop marketing materials and public service announcements
  • Represent Eden at community events such as parades and fairs
  • Contribute to Eden’s newsletter and social media content
  • Participate in donor outreach and mail campaigns using Eden’s Database tools
  • Provide general office support including filing, data entry, and document preparation
  • Answer phone calls and emails with professionalism and care
  • Help prepare materials for internal meetings and training sessions
  • Support internal communications
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Assist Program Directors and staff with various administrative tasks including application processing, reception duties, documentation creation, data entry and reporting
  • Follow Eden’s Health and Safety guidelines and the Workplace Safety and Health Act
  • Report any hazards or injuries to your manager and the Safety and Health Committee
  • Suggest improvements for safer working conditions
